Highlights from LV Connect June 2026 Edition
In the June 2026 edition of LV Connections, Lady Veterans Connect continues to honor, empower, and advocate for women veterans across Kentucky and beyond. This issue highlights the growing recognition of women’s military service, inspiring veteran stories, and upcoming opportunities for connection and support.
This month’s spotlight centers on Women Veterans Recognition Day, celebrating the legacy of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948 and the continued expansion of women’s roles in the military. LVC’s 2026 celebration at Equus Run Vineyards honors women veterans for their continued service and volunteerism in their communities.
The newsletter also shares the powerful story of Navy veteran and photojournalist Tashandra “Tasha” Poullard, whose journey from adversity to success reflects resilience, perseverance, and the lasting impact of military service.
Another featured story highlights the work of HBOT4KYVETS, an organization advocating for veterans suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries through hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The article emphasizes ongoing efforts to improve access to treatment and veteran wellness initiatives across Kentucky.
Readers can also explore a historical look at women’s contributions in U.S. military history — from the Revolutionary War to modern combat operations — recognizing both the visible and often overlooked roles women have played in service to the nation.
In addition, the newsletter includes upcoming community events, veteran resource fairs, retreats, and volunteer opportunities designed to strengthen connection, healing, and support for veterans and their families throughout 2026.
