August 2026 Newsletter Highlights: Continuing to Connect, Support, and Empower Women Veterans

At Lady Veterans Connect, every month is another opportunity to strengthen our mission of providing hope, homes, healing, and meaningful connections for women veterans. Our August newsletter celebrates recent accomplishments, highlights community partnerships, and shares exciting opportunities to get involved in the months ahead.

Supporting Women Veterans Beyond Their Service

This month's feature explores the unique challenges many women veterans face after military service, including combat experiences, military sexual trauma (MST), family reintegration, and post-traumatic stress. These experiences reinforce why organizations like Lady Veterans Connect exist—to provide a safe community, resources, advocacy, and a place where women veterans are seen, heard, and supported.

Building Stronger Community Connections

July was filled with opportunities to grow community awareness and partnerships. LVC was honored to host the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce at Anna's House, where local business leaders learned more about our mission while volunteers shared their personal experiences and the impact of our programs. The event showcased the power of collaboration in supporting women veterans across Kentucky.

Celebrating Women Veterans

Our annual Women Veterans Recognition Event brought together veterans and community members at Equus Run Vineyards to honor the service and continued leadership of women veterans. The event featured inspiring panel discussions with Women Veterans of the Year honorees who shared how military service shaped their lives and how they continue serving their communities today.

Growing Our Leadership

Lady Veterans Connect is excited to welcome Jessica Simon to the Board of Directors. Bringing years of experience in commercial banking, Jessica is passionate about expanding awareness of LVC, strengthening community partnerships, and helping more unhoused women veterans discover the support available through Anna's House and our programs.

Community Support Makes the Mission Possible

From churches and nonprofit organizations to civic groups, veterans organizations, and generous individuals, community support continues to fuel LVC's mission. Recent donations of furniture, household goods, personal care items, and supplies help ensure women veterans transitioning into stable housing have the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
