July 2025 Highlights: Honoring Service, Building Community
This month’s Lady Veterans Connect newsletter reflects on a season of heartfelt tributes and impactful outreach. While the LVC community mourns the passing of longtime supporter Mike Schutz, his legacy of service continues to inspire.
June brought powerful moments of recognition and connection:
77th Anniversary Celebration of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, held at the Kentucky History Center, honored trailblazing veterans including SGT Mary Phaire (age 100) and the late June Cummins Hopkins.
The Central Kentucky Day of Valor connected veterans and families with 23 supportive organizations.
Upcoming Event: Don’t miss the Veterans & Military Expo on July 26 at Elizabethtown Community & Technical College—open to all and focused on veterans benefits and community resources.
Volunteers, supporters, and VRUCK partners continue to fuel LVC’s mission—empowering and honoring women veterans across Kentucky and beyond.
