Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: Keeping Their Memory Alive

Today, we remember. Today, we honor.

Today, we pause.

December 7th marks a solemn day in our nation's history—a day that changed the course of our world forever. On this day in 1941, the attack on Pearl Harbor claimed the lives of over 2,400 brave servicemembers and civilians, leaving a profound mark on the hearts of Americans and shaping the generations that followed.

Today, we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who survived, and the families forever impacted. We honor the courage of those who fought through chaos and destruction with unwavering resolve. Their bravery reminds us of the true cost of freedom and the strength that can emerge from the darkest of days.

Pearl Harbor was not just a tragic moment; it became a turning point—a call for unity, resilience, and action - as well as launching us into what would be known as World War II. In the face of devastation, our nation came together, demonstrating the power of shared purpose and unyielding spirit. It is a reminder that even in moments of great adversity, we can rise stronger when we stand as one.

As we reflect on this day, let us not only honor the memory of those we lost but also carry forward the lessons it taught us. Let us strive to uphold their legacy by choosing unity over division, courage over fear, and peace over conflict.

In honor and respect of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice that day, please take a few minutes today to pause in silence, to remember, and to reflect.

We owe it to those who gave everything so that we might live in freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We will remember. We will honor. We will never forget.
